Air Plant , Tillandsia Ionantha ( Big ) – Plant

Tillandsia Ionantha is among the most colourful air plants in the Bromeliaceae family, belonging to the Tillandsia genus. Tillandsia plants are exceptional in that they can grow on almost any surface without needing soil. These plants are a beautiful addition to any indoor home garden collection.

General

Instead of receiving water and nutrients from the soil, Tillandsia survives by absorbing them through its leaves.

This variety of epiphyte should not be planted in a standard potting mix since its little roots would decay due to its airborne lifestyle in the tropics.

Air plants can be nestled into a seashell, wired onto a twig wreath with enamelled florists' wire, or grown in crevices or depressions of a twisted piece of wood.

East or West facing windows are the best to place Tillandsia hanging air plant.

If You place your Tillandsia Ionantha plant in a room with excessive heat or sunlight, it may require a little more moisture. You can put the plant in your balcony garden.

Sunlight
