Variegated Hoya Carnosa Compacta

The Hoya Compacta Variegated is a semi-succulent, perennial, vine-like variant of the Hoya carnosa species. The dark green leaves of the Hoya Compacta Variegata have a creamy white or pink variegation. These slow-growing houseplants can survive for several years and grow up to 20 feet long. The thick, curly, and crowded leaves resemble a rope earning it the name Hindu Rope Plant and Krinkle Kurl.

General

When hung from a basket, the stems can reach lengths of several feet in time. If grown around a wire loop, the length may depend on the size of the wire.

With proper care, they produce beautiful clusters of star-shaped flowers made up of about twenty small pinkish-white flowers. The waxy, porcelain-like flower clusters bloom late spring & early summer.

Sunlight

Your Hoya Compacta Variegata grows best in bright, indirect sunlight. A south-facing window is a perfect spot to place your Variegated Hindu Rope, although it can adjust to the east or west-facing windows as well.

They can survive in low lights as well, but their growth will be slow and they may not produce any flowers.

Watering

Deeply water your Hoya Compacta Variegata Plant when the soil is almost dry. This would amount to watering it once or twice a week in the growing season. And once every few weeks in fall and winter.
